Billie’s Boat

Billie’s Boat is named as the subject of this entry, but the available passage does not describe the boat, its owner, or its role. It therefore cannot be identified with any other object in the scene.

Appearance in the Available Passage

The passage at the end of Chapter Nine’s preceding scene mentions a wagon when the two brothers’ little sister asks whether they can leave. The brothers set aside their argument and Johnny gestures toward it. The text does not call the wagon Billie’s Boat or connect it to the boat in any way. Chapter Nine then begins with Cliff driving Rick’s Cadillac onto the Twentieth Century Fox lot, a separate scene that likewise provides no information about Billie’s Boat.
